Your place or theirs — as long as it is private and has room for chairs and a pose area. We travel throughout Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland, plus Fredericksburg, VA and Richmond, VA for a travel fee.

What are good divorce party ideas that aren't just drinks at a bar?
- The ones that give people something to do. A private figure-drawing party puts an activity, a laugh and a physical souvenir in the room, which is a lot easier than a table of friends trying to gauge your mood over cocktails. You get a professional nude figure model, an instructor and all the supplies at your place.
Is a divorce party supposed to be funny or sentimental?
- Yours can be either, and most are both. Tell us the tone you want on the booking form — playful roast energy, quiet reset with your closest friends, or something in between — and the instructor calibrates the games and commentary to match.
Can we do a freedom party for a small group?
- Yes. Bare Essentials covers up to 8 guests over about 90 minutes, which suits most freedom parties. Four or five friends works fine too; small rooms tend to be the funniest ones.
Will the party be respectful of what I'm going through?
- Yes. Our instructors read the room and never make the guest of honor the punchline unless that is explicitly what they asked for. Nobody is required to share anything, and the focus stays on drawing, laughing and your friends.
Where can we host a divorce party in Washington DC?
- Anywhere private with room for chairs and a pose area — your home, a friend's place, an Airbnb or a rented event room. We travel throughout DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland, with travel to Richmond available for a fee.
