The Process
How It Works
Booking a Bare Canvas party is deliberately simple: you tell us the date and the vibe, we handle the model, the instructor, the supplies and the structure. Here’s exactly what happens between your first message and the last laugh of the night.
1. Inquiry
You send your date, city, guest count and the occasion through Check Your Date. It takes about two minutes and there is no commitment attached to it.
2. Availability confirmation
We check the date against our model and instructor calendar and reply with whether it's open, what the package would cost for your group, and any travel considerations.
3. Deposit
A 50% deposit holds your date on the calendar. Until it's paid, the date stays open to other groups. Cancel more than 30 days out and the deposit is refunded in full; inside 30 days it's forfeited.
4. Instructor and model assignment
We match your party with an instructor and a professional nude figure model. Nude posing is the standard format; if your group would rather have partial draping or clothed poses, we confirm that in advance.
5. Venue requirements
We walk through your space: how many people fit comfortably, where the model will pose, lighting, parking and any house or venue rules. If you're in an Airbnb or hotel, this is when you confirm the property allows a private gathering.
6. Setup
Our team arrives ahead of your start time to set up drawing stations, the posing area and materials. You don't have to arrange anything beyond clearing the space.
7. The event
Your instructor opens with playful warm-ups, then leads the group through a pose progression with games and prompts along the way. The guest of honor gets their own moment built in.
8. Photos
Group photos and photos of your artwork are usually welcome. Photographs of the model are only taken with explicit consent agreed in advance — we confirm the rules with everyone before the first pose.
9. Cleanup
We pack up the materials, the easels and the posing setup and leave the space as we found it. Your drawings, of course, stay with you.
10. Follow-up
A short note afterward with anything you asked us to send along, plus an invitation to share feedback or a review if the party earned one.
What You Need to Provide
Short list. If you have a room and permission to use it, you’re most of the way there.
- A private space where your group can gather uninterrupted
- Seating for each guest — chairs, stools or sofa space all work
- Reasonable lighting so everyone can see the model and their paper
- Permission from the venue, host or building for a private event
- Any drinks, snacks or food you'd like, if the venue allows them
