Private Figure Drawing Parties in Washington, DC
We bring the model, the instructor and every supply to your address in the District — from a Georgetown rowhouse to a Navy Yard building lounge.

Which Neighborhoods Do We Come To?
Anywhere in the District. Most of our DC parties land in Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Shaw, Logan Circle, Navy Yard, Capitol Hill, Adams Morgan and NoMa — but if you are in Petworth, Brookland or Southwest Waterfront, we are coming to you too. Bare Canvas does not operate a DC studio; every party is hosted at your location.
Rowhouses and apartments
The most common DC setup. A living room that fits a loose semicircle of chairs is genuinely all we need. Older rowhouses in Capitol Hill and Shaw usually work better than they look on paper — we work around narrow rooms all the time.
Building lounges and party rooms
Navy Yard, NoMa and Logan Circle buildings often have a reservable lounge with tables and good light. Book it early, confirm your building allows a private guest event, and tell us the room size when you request a date.
Hotels and short-term rentals
Hotel suites work when the sitting area is separate from the beds and the hotel is aware of your gathering. Airbnbs vary widely on party rules and headcounts — read the listing terms first. Permission and venue charges are yours to arrange.
Rented event and studio space
Plenty of small DC event rooms and creative studios rent by the hour and are a clean fit for larger groups. Ask about a room with movable seating rather than a fixed conference layout.
What Should DC Hosts Plan For?
DC logistics are their own sport. A few things worth sorting before your date so setup goes smoothly:
- Parking and loading: we arrive with boards and supply cases, so a loading spot, a visitor pass or a nearby garage saves everyone fifteen minutes. Zoned residential parking in Georgetown and Adams Morgan is worth flagging in advance.
- Building access: front-desk buildings in Navy Yard and NoMa often need names on a guest list. Add ours when you confirm.
- Elevators and stairs: walk-ups are fine, we just like to know beforehand.
- Room setup: we need about 45 minutes of lead time and space to arrange seating around a pose area.
- Venue permission: whoever owns the space — hotel, building, host, rental — needs to be okay with a private gathering. That confirmation is the guest's responsibility.
Popular DC Bookings
DC groups book us most often for bachelorette parties, milestone birthday parties and creative team building events. Parties start at $85 per person — see pricing — and travel within the District is included. Nearby? Northern Virginia and Maryland are also in our core service area.
Questions
Washington DC FAQ
Which DC neighborhoods do you serve?
- All of them. We regularly run parties in Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Shaw, Logan Circle, Navy Yard, Capitol Hill, Adams Morgan and NoMa, and we travel anywhere inside the District. There is no neighborhood surcharge within DC.
Do you have a studio in DC we can use?
- No — Bare Canvas is a mobile service and does not operate a physical DC studio. We come to your home, your rental or a space you have booked. If you need venue suggestions, mention it in your request and we will point you toward the kinds of rooms that work well.
Can we host a figure drawing party in a DC hotel or Airbnb?
- Often yes, with permission. Hotel suites need a private room large enough for chairs and a pose area, and many hotels require you to clear a private gathering with the events team first. Airbnbs frequently restrict parties and guest counts, so check the listing rules before booking. Venue permission and any fees are the guest's responsibility.
